WP5 Compatibility of management options with EU policies
This work package reviews how regulations and policies at regional, national and EU level affect the adoption of best management practices. It develops guidelines for EU and national policies that promote the adoption of sustainable soil management.
For the partner countries, analyses of regional and national policies in relation to soils management are made. Policies may promote better practices, but may sometime also hinder their adoption. EU regulations and directives that interact in any way with soil management are analysed, and these interactions are made explicit for the different farming conditions. In all partner countries, workshops are held with local policy makers to discuss the consistency between existing policies and regulations affecting soil management.
